Big News and Big Thanks!
Jaymee:
WOOHOO!!! Freddy caught me by surprise thats for sure! My romantic man proposed during our last sail on Tabebuia on Friday morning, after a yummy breakfast we made on the boat. Of course, it being our last day on the island my thoughts were more like "have we packed everything?" and "what items do we still need to give away to friends?" so I was NOT thinking my man would ask me to be his wife! But woohoo! I am so happy and am the luckiest girl!!
Freddy:
What can I say I am a romantic! It really just all came together, the scene was set, beautiful morning, beautiful girl, what is a man suppose to do? No seriously I am super stoked about our future and all the crazy adventures we are going to get ourselves into! I am one lucky man and to be honest I was just relieved she said yes, although I must say I was a bit worried when I went down on my knee and she said: "Are you serious?"
I want to also just send out a big thanks to all our friends who came out on Friday night to celebrate our leaving with us. It meant a great deal to me to see all my friends out there and we had a great time. We will keep you guys up to speed on all the happenings.
Catch you later

Good-bye venue!
What a mess! Originally our send-off drinks/dance party was to take place at the Jasmine Lounge and The Cellar respectively. Good thing the gentlemen at the Southampton Princess failed to tell me that the Jasmine Lounge is in the middle of a complete restoration. Change of plans. Our new venue is Frescos at 7:30pm, which seems to be a bit more convenient for about 90% of our friends.
So we hope to see you all there....until the wee hours.
Less than a week to go. Eek!

Countdown to Saturday
At the time being, we are hustling and bustling around Bermuda in a mad attempt to gather all belongings, pertinent paperwork, and fragments of sanity needed for the move to South Africa! There is no "step-by-step" handbook, patience is running low, and Freddy and I find ourselves arguing about whether or not I placed his sunglasses in my purse resulting in a scratch on the lens. (sigh).
Did I mention we knew about this move for the better part of 8 months?
Regardless, we ARE making it. Yet surely there will be time to spare to enjoy this magical island, this place that has allowed us time together.
On a personal note, we would like to thank all of our friends who have been so helpful and hospitable towards us in these last few weeks, Sam and Evan, Dave and Lysa, Jane and Deon, Chris, Andreas, and surely others. Its great to have truly dependable friends. To all of our friends; we would like to express how great it has been to have met you all, to have enjoyed barbecues (Braais), sailing, kiteboarding, and just "hangin out" (our favorite). For Freddy, I know it has been such a special time, a time in his life he will never forget. I will leave it to him to write up his own thoughts in a later post.
To the Gunther family I want to extend my thanks for taking a leap of faith and hiring a silly girl from Florida to watch over your little ones. I have enjoyed so very much watching Katie and Quinn grow, have learned so much, and will always think of this time as one of the greatest blessings of my life. I will be keeping in touch!
We encourage you to keep in touch with us as well, either following us on this blog or email/phone. Once settled in Plettenberg Bay (hopefully come March 2010) we welcome any of our friends traveling through South Africa to come and visit! And of course once the house is built and livable ( hopefully come September 2010), you can of course stay with us.
Its been a great experience living in Bermuda... now on to the next adventure!
